Meeting Schedule:

More details below…

What will our meetings look like?

Each facilitated meeting will have a different focus.

In our first gathering, we’ll get to know each other, share our values and visions for the future of what it’s like to walk around our neighborhood, and hear from expert presenters to ground us in our current landscape and in urban planning research on walkability.

In our second gathering, we’ll begin to propose and explore possible interventions that we might initiate as a group. We’ll hear from local policy experts to guide us as to how we might channel our efforts and we’ll spark the group’s creativity with a short presentation on inventive walkability interventions.

In our third and final meeting, we’ll aim to converge on one (or more!) interventions and lay out the plans for how we’ll get this into motion. We’ll ask participants to take responsibility for concrete actions and connect our work to other local efforts and groups, for example the Bryn Mawr Association’s Active Transportation Committee.

We anticipate distributing an ‘assigned reading’ prior to the first meeting; we believe this will enrich our discussions by giving us some shared vocabulary and background knowledge.

While we highly encourage participants to attend all three sessions, if you’re only able to attend 2/3, please don’t count yourself out!

We look forward to your participation and valuable insights. Together, we can make Bryn Mawr a safer and more enjoyable place for its many pedestrians.
